What’s going on Cash App-ers?!

Get this…

In 2021, Cash App processed $167 million in transactions alone.

CRAZY – right?

As you probably know, Cash App has an “activity history” keeping track of ALL those transactions which can be pretty useful – or a bit concerning if privacy is important to you.

I mean, who can all see your past transactions? Thankfully not everyone.

But how do you check it?

Maybe you want to know when you sent that money to your buddy so they’ll finally leave you alone about paying them back (since they apparently forgot).

Or…

Maybe you just want to check to see what’s all in your activity history.

No matter what your reason is, in this post I’ll show you EXACTLY how to check your Cash App activity history and everything else you should know (some things are pretty important).

How to Check Your Cash App Activity History

You can check your Cash App activity history using either the app or by going to the Cash App website.

It’s known as the “activity history” instead of a transaction history because it doesn’t JUST show transactions.

It shows other important things too like logins to your account from different devices or locations.

This is how to check your Cash App activity history:

Using the App:

  • Step 1: Open Cash App and log in to your account.
  • Step 2: Tap the clock icon in the bottom right corner of the app.

Can You See Other People’s Transactions on Cash App?

Unlike what other sources online say, you CAN see other people’s transactions on Cash App.

However, you CAN’T see the transaction history of just anyone and everyone.

I mean, would you want random people checking what you’re spending money on? I know I wouldn’t.

Cash App isn’t at all like Venmo (or other similar apps) which has a “news feed” of transactions made by friends/family and is dubbed a “social payment app”.

With Cash App…

The ONLY people who you can see transactions for (aside from yourself obviously) are people you’ve sent money to or received money from on Cash App.

Of course, you can’t see ALL of their transactions either.

Just the ones you were directly involved with (sorry creepers).

Maybe Cash App should be dubbed an “introvert payment app”?

So some good news…

If you’re concerned with privacy, you don’t need to worry about friends/family or random people seeing what you’re up to with Cash App.

Below is how you can see the transaction history of people you’ve sent money to or received money from using Cash App:

Using the App:

  • Step 1: Open Cash App and log in to your account.
  • Step 2: Tap the search icon near the bottom right corner of the app.

Does Cash App Have Statements?

Yes, Cash App has statements similar to a bank that can be viewed on the app or through the Cash App website.

These statements can be pretty useful too.

Especially if you need proof of income if you’re being paid through Cash App (as just one example).

You can also download and print these statements which is nice if you need to give someone a copy (I show how briefly).

How to View Your Cash App Statements

Each month, Cash App provides you with an account statement.

Does Your Bank Statement Show Who You Sent Money to With Cash App?

It depends…

I know saying “it depends” isn’t really an answer but it’s the truth.

Some banks don’t show any specific info about Cash App transactions while others show all of the details including who you sent money to (their $cashtag), and how much you sent.

Unfortunately, there really is no way for you to know how it will show up on your bank statement until you send money to someone.

So if you’re worried about it, send a test transaction to someone and then take a look at your bank statement and see what it shows.

At least then you’ll know.

Otherwise, you can also just transfer money to Cash App from your bank account.

Once the money is in your Cash App account, THEN send it to the person you are wanting to send it to.

That way your bank statement will only show a transfer to Cash App and nothing else.

Can I Delete or Hide My Cash App History?

Despite what some sites (or YouTube videos) like to tell you, you can’t delete your Cash App history.

They are ALL full of BS.

The ONLY way to delete your Cash App history is to fully delete your Cash App account (and even then, Cash App likely keeps records of it).

You also can’t “hide” your Cash App history.

Not because of a limitation with Cash App, but because you don’t NEED to hide it.

Unlike Venmo (and other similar apps), Cash App transactions are private by default and always will be.

Wrapping Up – How to Check Your Cash App History

  • You can check your Cash App history by tapping the “clock icon” in the bottom right corner and searching for whichever transactions you’re looking for (by scrolling or by using the search bar).
  • You can see other people’s transactions but only people that you have sent money to or received money from. You can ONLY see those specific transactions and not the full transaction history.
  • You can view, download, and print your Cash App statement. This is useful, especially for anyone that needs to prove income history and is paid using Cash App.
  • Your Cash App transactions may or may not show up on your bank statement and may or may not show detail. It just depends on the bank you use. It’s best to test this if you’re concerned about it by sending a test transaction to someone and checking how it shows up.
